Papaya, dried

Papaya or Carica papaya is a tropical tree that grows in hot and humid areas. Originally distributed in South America, it can now also be found in other hot and humid regions of the world. It is known by different names, often called melon tree, fruta bomba in Cuba or lechosa in the Dominican Republic. The most common name in the world is the Caribbean name of the fruit - papaya.

Dried papaya fruits are a great addition to dairy products such as yogurt, cottage cheese, and sour cream. They can be added to cakes, muesli, cereals, cocktails, and salads. Finely chopped dried papaya pieces can used to decorate ice cream.
